Managing People online course:
Episode 4. Induction
An induction sets the tone for a team member’s time with you. Get it right, and they’ll be happy and productive in their role. Get it wrong, and there could be lasting issues with their performance. The last thing you want is for anyone to feel out of their depth – so how can you give your new hire the best possible start?
Set your team up for a successful career with you
A good staff induction offers more than an introduction to the business. You need to make sure your new team member understands your company values, and the ins and outs of their responsibilities. Is the role what they expected? And are they demonstrating the skills you were assured they had during the hiring stage? This is the time to spot any issues, celebrate early successes, and make sure both parties are happy to move ahead.
Completing this course gains a recognised Continual Professional Development (CPD) point.
Taking the accompanying Mastery Check gives valuable feedback, and the all-important measurement data, and earns your manager an additional 0.5 CPD points.
